I’m a huge sports fan. My two primary sports of choice are basketball and baseball. I’m not much of a fiction novel reader but recently received a copy of the book “Home Run” to review. Now that I have read the book, I am really looking forward to seeing the movie when it is released in theaters April 19th.
Home Run is based on a novel about a player that had it all. He actually had too much. Too much fame. Too much money. Too much of himself and, sadly, too much alcohol. Too much, too often. All of these things eventually catch up to him and he finds himself out of baseball for 8 weeks. He is assigned to community service in a hometown that holds further bad memories and a few good ones. I won’t give away the book, but I highly recommend picking up the novel before the film is released. Having not seen the film, I’m not sure what all transfers from the pages to the screen, but I can say that the pages tell a great story. As the great Max Lucado said,
