A few weeks ago I received a new book to review called “The Sparkle Box” just in time for the holidays. As usual, when I get a book or something to review in the mail, my kids usually rip open the envelope before I even get home. Princess 2.0 took the honors this time and before I could even read the book myself, she had finished it. Not only did she love the book, she took the sparkle box that comes with the book, put it together and then told her brother and other sister that they both needed to read the book. For the rest of the night, she kept asking them, “did you read it yet?”
Her love of this book didn’t end there. Every year when we decorate, we put a small lighted tree in both of the girls rooms. Not wasting any time, Princess 2.0 declared that “The Sparkle Box will look perfect under my tree.” Something about this story really touched her heart. For that reason, it touched mine too. But this is so much more than just a story about my daughter and a very special book.
It’s about putting the proper emphasis on this Christmas season.
I can’t give away the details of the book, but trust me when I say that this is a book you’ll want to kick off the Christmas season with. This book could change how you approach the entire season. It could be a driving factor and motivation for how you consider all that you do and who you do it for this season. We loved the book and think you will too.
