This is a very odd review for me to do. I kinda feel like I need to be very, very careful in how I approach my review of the new book “Heaven Is Real But So Is Hell” by Vassula Ryden. I say it’s odd because this book deals with two things…Religion and Prophecy. Those are two words that can be a bit controversial. They can also be approached with great skepticism. I won’t lie when I say that I can be a bit skeptical when it comes to someone claiming to have certain abilities, conversations or visions. It’s sad that I feel that way, but I’m just being honest.
So it is with my skeptical eye that I read this book. Vassula Ryden opens right up on chapter one with visions and visitations she had as a child of “dead people.” Before I even left the first few pages, I was wondering if this was a book I should continue to read or just let someone else do it. But I kept pushing on. I have never met the author and have no reason to believe that she is making any of this up. Actually I find her story and writing very interesting. I do believe that we are surrounded by many things we are not even aware of. Vassula believes that she sees these things and has had regular communication with them.
Overall, I personally approach each of these books by listening to my gut and heart. Again, I have no reason to not believe Vassula Ryden. I believe her overall message of hope and her call to not be strayed for those still seeking is very powerful. The only reason I stop short of any recommendation is because I think each person should choose for themselves what they will and will not read. It’s a quick read but one that is very, very powerful.
I give Heaven is Real But So Is Hell a 3 out of 5.
